Plastic film has the characteristics of light weight, moisture and oxygen resistance, and good air tightness. It is the basis of various production packaging materials, and is widely used in food, printing and packaging, paper protection, electronic industry and other fields.
In the production process of plastic film, due to the existence of a large number of idlers, rubber rollers and metal rollers, a large amount of friction of insulating film materials will produce static electricity of more than 100000 volts, which will seriously affect product quality, production efficiency and production safety. Therefore, static electricity must be effectively eliminated in the production process of film.


Effect of ESD on Thin Film Process

01 Winding and sticking

In the process of rapid reeling and unwinding, a large amount of friction, peeling and extrusion will occur between the film material and the roll, which will cause electrostatic charges of different electrical properties to accumulate on the surface of the object. With the increase of speed and time, electrostatic values will accumulate, causing abnormalities such as winding or wrinkling

02 Cutting error

Due to the existence of static electricity, the sheets of the coated finished products repel or attract each other, which is difficult to slide off and fill with air. It is very difficult to tidy up, which can not be conveniently done. It is easy to cause cutting errors to ensure that the rules are in the same standard position.


03 Adsorb dust

Due to the adsorption of static electricity, small dust in the air will adhere to the surface of plastic film, affecting the cleanliness of film products and subsequent processes.

04 Poor printing

As the small dust absorbed by static electricity adheres to the surface of the plastic film, bright spots and phantom images will be generated in the subsequent printing process, resulting in poor printing.

05 Cause safety accidents

If the static electricity accumulated in the plastic film cannot be released in time, it may be discharged due to the continuous rise of the static voltage. The electric spark formed will quickly ignite the flammable gas volatilized by the organic solvent, resulting in the deflagration of the adhesive and diluent existing in the gluing mechanism, igniting the plastic film, paper and other combustibles, and causing a terrible fire.
