1. Why to establish electrostatic protection zone?

According to the statistics of RAC (American Reliability Analysis Center), the failure rate of device ESD accounts for 15% of all hardware failures, while the failure rate of EOS/ ESD, which is highly electrostatic sensitive, is about 60%. Therefore, in the manufacturing process of electronic products, it is necessary to establish an effective electrostatic protection zone (EPA) and constantly improve the enterprise electrostatic protection facilities and technical level in order to ensure the product quality of electronic equipment.


2. ESD Control method of EPA area

The boundaries of the EPA should be clearly marked (for example, the attention sign with the EPA can be posted in a prominent place before the person enters the EPA), and the EPA can be a building, an entire room, or a workstation.

In the electrostatic protection area (EPA), it needs to be controlled from five aspects: man-machine material method ring.

People: the staff in the ESD control area should wear anti-static clothes, electrostatic shoes, electrostatic caps, electrostatic bracelets and so on. Strengthen ESD-related training to put an end to unsafe behavior. 
Machine: use the grounding wire to control the release direction of the ESD, and configure a suitable ion electrostatic eliminator in the parts where the grounding wire cannot be installed to neutralize the static charge that will be generated in time. 
Materials: try to use conductor materials, reduce the use of insulating materials, can not avoid the use of anti-static packaging bags for shielding, or the use of electrostatic eliminator to eliminate static charge in time. 
Method: using all reasonable methods to reduce the generation, accumulation and release of static charge. 
Ring: reasonable and effective electrostatic control is required for ceilings, floors, space humidity,temperature, countertops, chairs, mechanical equipment, etc., in ESD control area.

3.  Dynetech electrostatic eliminator
